Before you start, check you fit

  • Your child is 18 or under.
  • Individual Medicaid services still require covered providers and any applicable medical-necessity or prior-authorization review.
  • A new Katie Beckett case-management portal launched April 15, 2026 for document upload and case communication after a case is entered.

    • Proof of legal appointment if a legally appointed representative acts for the applicant.

  3. Send it the way they ask

    • Submit the completed signed application to the Centralized Katie Beckett Medicaid Team or another route listed on the official page.

After you send

After the case is entered, use the emailed invitation to set up the Katie Beckett portal account and track benefits. Respond to requests for medical/functional evidence; do not draft or sign clinician attestations. If you have not heard back in two weeks, write and ask whether it arrived.
