Written by a parent, not a doctor. Nothing here is medical advice.

Terms of use

I have tried to keep this short and human. It is here so we both know where we stand.

This is a parent's notes, not advice

I'm a parent, not a doctor, lawyer, social worker or financial adviser. Nothing on this site is medical, legal or financial advice. It is information I gathered while my own kid was in treatment, and how I came to understand it. Decisions about your child's care belong to you and your care team. Decisions about money and benefits belong to you and the people who run those programs. Please use this site to ask better questions, not to replace the answers you get from them.

Listings are leads, not promises

Programs change their rules, run out of money, and sometimes close. I check each listing against the program's own website and show the date I checked, but a listing can still be out of date by the time you read it. Please treat every listing as a place to start. Only the program or agency can tell you whether your family qualifies, and I hope many of them say yes.

I do my best, and I can't promise perfection

I work hard to get things right, and I fix mistakes when I find them or when a reader tells me. Even so, the site is offered as it is. I can't promise it is complete, current or free of errors, and I can't take responsibility for decisions made from it. Please check anything important with your team or with the program itself before you act on it.

I link to a lot of other sites because that is where the sources live. I don't control those sites and can't vouch for everything on them. Their content and their policies are their own.

Sharing and copying

The writing, drawings and visuals here are © Keegan, Childhood Cancer Lantern. Please read, print and share links to any page as much as you like; that is what it is for. You are welcome to quote short passages if you link back to the page. What I ask is that you don't copy the site wholesale or republish whole pages somewhere else. Linking instead means readers get the current version and the sources that go with it.

The studies, summaries and drug labels I quote belong to their publishers. I link to them so you can read the originals.

Feedback you send

If you send feedback, I may use it to correct or improve a page, and I am grateful when you do. I won't publish your name or email. The privacy page explains what the form sends.

Changes

Pages will change as I learn more, and the site may change shape over time. I will keep these terms as short and plain as I can. If any part of them can't be applied, the rest still stands.

Questions are always welcome at info@moonjai.com.
