Before you start, check you fit

  • Passenger must be able to use a small nonpressurized aircraft safely.
  • Flights depend on volunteers, weather, aircraft, and safety.
  • Flights are not emergency transport or air ambulance service.

    LifeLine Pilots needs a signed medical form from your doctor. It has to cover 4 things. Copy this message, or say it in person at the next visit.

It has to cover medical stability for flight, ability to fly in a small unpressurized aircraft, whether the condition affects flight safety, and needed in-flight medical equipment.     Have ready

    • LifeLine Pilots liability release signed before travel.
    • Firm medical appointment details required before Mission Coordinators can look for volunteer pilots.

    • Provide the physician contact and firm appointment when available; LifeLine Pilots obtains the physician release.

After you send

Reply promptly to Mission Coordinators about traveler weights, companions, equipment, route, and appointment changes. Call 800-822-7972 immediately for changes to an arranged flight and keep a backup plan because volunteer availability and weather can cancel a mission. If you have not heard back in two weeks, write and ask whether it arrived.
