Before you start, check you fit

  • A companion is required, and you must arrange ground transportation.
  • A flight must begin or end in one of the five named Midwestern states and remain east of the Rocky Mountains.
  • Doctor clearance for non-medical small-aircraft travel is required.

    Wings of Mercy needs a signed confirmation of the diagnosis from your doctor. Copy this message, or say it in person at the next visit.

    Have ready

    • Current Wings of Mercy patient Waiver of Liability supplied through the program's post-application process.
    • Waiver of liability for the approved flight companion.
    • Signed Final Checklist accepting flight-coordination, backup-plan, companion, confidentiality, and change-approval terms.

    • Submit the initial request through the official online form.
    • Return the later certification, waivers, and signed Final Checklist using the current delivery instructions provided by Wings of Mercy staff.

After you send

Confirm receipt and approval with Wings of Mercy staff, not the volunteer pilots. Keep a backup travel plan because flights depend on pilot, aircraft, weather, and maintenance availability. If you have not heard back in two weeks, write and ask whether it arrived.
