Children's Special Services helps families arrange care for long-term conditions, including childhood cancer. Its separate family-support money depends on age, SSI or TEFRA enrollment, financial eligibility and available funds. Care coordination does not pay chemotherapy bills.

Eligibility rules

Other details
  • Your social worker can help ask CSS about its financial test and household table.
  • A separate program, School Readiness Assistance, may help with a sibling's child care. It generally serves children under 13 while parents meet work, school or training rules.
  • Arkansas's child-care help needs a parent working or studying at least 20 hours a week and a family under 85% of the state median income; the agency checks the child's age and whether a place is open.
