Colorado WIC offers food, formula and nutrition support for young children and eligible pregnant or postpartum parents.

What it is

Colorado WIC offers food, formula and nutrition support for young children and eligible pregnant or postpartum parents.

WIC can help feed a young child in the family even when another child is receiving cancer treatment. It supplies particular foods and nutrition support. It does not cover an older child simply because they have cancer.

Eligibility rules
  • A child must be under five, or the applicant must fit a pregnancy or postpartum WIC category and have a nutritional need.
  • For July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027, gross monthly limits are $3,337 for two people, $4,212 for three, $5,088 for four, $5,964 for five and $6,839 for six.
  • Participation in Medicaid, SNAP or TANF establishes the income requirement; the clinic still checks other WIC rules.

WIC uses a specific food package. It is different from the grocery choices available through SNAP.

Other details
  • Colorado residency is required. The income table is effective July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027.
  • Eligible nonbreastfeeding parents can receive WIC for six months after pregnancy ends; breastfeeding parents can qualify through the baby's first birthday. Citizenship or an eligible immigration status is not required, and Colorado WIC does not ask about or track immigration status.
  • If treatment makes it hard to bring the child in, ask the clinic about a physical-presence exception.
