Heating bills can become harder to manage when treatment reduces income. CEAP uses state median income rather than a poverty-only limit. The local agency checks the household and heating arrangement.

Eligibility rules
  • The 2026–2027 income ceiling is 60% of state median income.
  • The line is 60% of the state median income: about $6,558 a month for three people, $7,807 for four (2026 to 2027 season).
