What it is
WIC offers food and nutrition support during pregnancy, after pregnancy, during breastfeeding, and for infants and children under five.
WIC can help a younger child or a pregnant or breastfeeding family member. The benefit is a food package, not cash. A county WIC clinic checks the participant’s eligibility and nutrition needs.
Eligibility rules
- For July 2026 through June 2027, the WIC income limit for three people is $4,212 a month. Current Medicaid, SNAP or TCA participation can establish the income requirement; the clinic still checks the participant’s category, Florida residence and nutrition risk.
- The participant must fit a WIC category and complete the clinic’s assessment.
- WIC serves pregnant people, breastfeeding parents through the baby’s first birthday, other postpartum parents through six months after pregnancy, infants, and children under five. Citizenship and immigration status are not WIC eligibility conditions. A clinic checks Florida residence, the income or qualifying-benefit route, and nutrition risk; an older child’s cancer does not extend the child age limit.

Good to know
A child’s eligibility ends at age five. An older child’s treatment does not extend that age limit.
