WIC provides food and nutrition support for young children and eligible pregnant, breastfeeding or postpartum people.
WIC may help another household member even if the child in treatment is too old. Pregnancy, breastfeeding and recent birth can matter as well as a child's age. The clinic checks the applicant's category, nutrition needs and income rules.
Eligibility rules
- WIC includes children under five and eligible pregnant, breastfeeding or postpartum applicants. The clinic confirms the category and its time limits.
- Published monthly limits for July 2026 through June 2027: 2 people: $3,337; 3: $4,212; 4: $5,088.
- The July 1, 2026–June 30, 2027 table reflects 185% of poverty. Idaho lists $10,508 more per year for each additional person; the clinic confirms a larger household's amount. Child eligibility ends at the fifth birthday. Medicaid, SNAP or TANF can establish income eligibility while the clinic checks the remaining requirements.

WIC is separate from SNAP. Receiving Medicaid, SNAP or TANF can establish income eligibility, but the clinic still checks the other WIC rules.

- A child can get WIC whatever the parents' immigration status; the clinic only checks the paperwork of an adult applying for themselves.
