How the programs connect
- The posted FITAP schedule effective January 1, 2022 sets maximum monthly grants of $484 for a three-person assistance unit and $568 for four. These are not entry income limits; applicable income reduces the payment, and the first eligible payment is prorated from the application date.
- The work rule excludes an adult caring for a family member whose disability or incapacity a medical expert documents.
- The office checks the mandatory filing unit, income, resources and assistance history. An SSI recipient is excluded from the FITAP unit. The ordinary parent limit is 24 months in the preceding 60, with a separate 60-month lifetime framework and hardship provisions. A caregiving work exception does not automatically remove every time limit.
