The waiver is linked to a qualifying benefit and the electricity account. Mississippi Power confirms who must receive the benefit and whose name must be on the account. A child’s SSI award does not establish eligibility for a parent’s account.
Eligibility rules
- Mississippi Power confirms whether the current rider accepts the customer’s SSI or state cash-assistance award and what proof it requires.
- The utility confirms account-name, account-status and prior-service conditions under its current rider. Changing an account into a child’s name is not an established route to this credit.
