Nevada WIC offers food and nutrition support for young children and during pregnancy, recovery and breastfeeding.

What it is

Nevada WIC offers food and nutrition support for young children and during pregnancy, recovery and breastfeeding.

WIC can serve a child under five, a pregnant person, a person up to six months after pregnancy, or a breastfeeding parent until the baby turns one. A younger sibling can qualify even when the child in cancer treatment is older. The clinic checks Nevada residence and nutrition risk as well as income.

Eligibility rules
  • The income guideline is 185% of poverty. Medicaid, SNAP or TANF participation establishes income eligibility under the federal WIC rule.
  • From July 1, 2026 through June 30, 2027, monthly limits are $3,337 for two people, $4,212 for three, $5,088 for four and $5,964 for five.

Good to know

The child under five can be a sibling. WIC is separate from SNAP grocery benefits.

Other details
  • WIC checks that the participant lives in Nevada, but citizenship is not required. The clinic can explain acceptable proof of the household’s address, identity and income or Medicaid, SNAP or TANF participation. A young child does not need a household bill in the child’s own name; discuss alternatives if your family lacks the usual records.
