Repeated clinic trips can add up quickly. The child’s Medicaid plan uses its own transport company to arrange rides. Family or friends who drive may receive mileage reimbursement after the required forms are on file.
Eligibility rules
- Your child needs NH Medicaid and a covered appointment.

What the help covers
- NH Healthy Families uses Medical Transportation Management: 1-888-597-1192.
- AmeriHealth Caritas New Hampshire uses Coordinated Transportation Solutions: 1-833-301-2264.
- WellSense uses Medical Transportation Management: 844-909-7433.
- From August 1, 2026, WellSense round-trip limits are 50 miles for doctor or behavioral-health visits, 90 for hospital, dialysis or therapy, 300 for dental care, 400 for specialists and 30 for pharmacy trips. Medically supported exceptions are available. Previously approved trips remain approved through their authorization end date.

- Ask for mileage forms if someone you know will drive, and check the booking notice for your plan.

After you apply
- WellSense asks for at least two business days for routine rides through MTM, 844-909-7433, and handles urgent requests with less notice. For NH Healthy Families or AmeriHealth Caritas NH, the transport service can confirm its current routine-notice and urgent-booking rules from the number on your child’s plan information. The social worker can help arrange recurring treatment trips; a short-notice request is not a promise that a nonurgent ride will be available.
Good to know
There is no single statewide ride number. Mileage repayment depends on the transport company’s paperwork.
Other details
- If treatment is beyond the plan's mileage limit, the doctor can ask for an exception; that is common for cancer care. Send WellSense's trip log within 60 days of each trip, and register any family driver with the transport company first.

- If treatment is outside New Hampshire, ask the plan's care manager in writing to approve the travel first.
