Walking from parking to treatment can be difficult for a child with a temporary disability. A qualified clinician or other listed certifier checks the requirement. The county clerk issues the placard.
Eligibility rules
- A temporary disabling condition must be certified.
- Eligible certifiers include a doctor, a physician assistant or nurse practitioner under a qualifying protocol, a physical therapist, or a listed Christian Science practitioner.
What you get
- Accessible parking with a temporary placard; the state fee is $10, with possible county charges.
- Validity for up to six months when the disabling condition is certified.
