What you get
Free grief care starts with an assessment of your family’s needs. You may be matched with counseling or workshops, including support for your own grief and parenting.
How to start
You or the grieving young adult can call 720-941-0331, email assist@judishouse.org or send the contact form. A supporter can join your call.
Good to know
- This is help after a death. Cancer treatment alone does not meet the grief-program requirement.
- Assessment starts at least two months after a death. You can call sooner for information, but this is not crisis care.

Your family can receive a free assessment and peer-group counseling after a death, for youth ages 3–25 in Metro Denver and surrounding areas. When appropriate, short-term care can include individual, family, couples or play therapy. Assessments begin at least two months after the death, though you can call sooner to learn about care.

Peer grief groups
You and your child can meet peers grouped by age and similar experiences of a death. Groups teach coping skills and give you grief and parenting support.

B-ALL is in scope. Eligibility is based on grieving a death, not the deceased person's diagnosis; a family bereaved after childhood B-ALL can fit.

How to get started
Does a social worker or care team need to start it? No. A required care-team start is not published; the family can use the available route below.
Who can start: Parent Or Guardian, Caregiver, Patient
- Submit the grief-services contact form, call, or email to request an overview and eligibility check.
- Explain services, verify eligibility, and schedule an initial assessment if appropriate.
- Ensure every family member seeking care attends the approximately 90-minute daytime assessment and all medical decision makers sign the child consent form.
- Recommend in-house group or non-group care, an outside referral, no service, or a combination based on the assessment.
