Mitchell Thorp Foundation
Mitchell Thorp Foundation provides customized assistance to U.S.-resident families whose child age 0-21 has a life-threatening illness and is in treatment or within six months after treatment; pediatric B-ALL is within that scope. One board-approved grant per year may pay vendors directly for medical treatment or equipment, housing and utilities, food, travel, lodging, childcare, counseling, vehicle or accessibility needs, and other published categories. The child or a parent must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident, and the family must show that medical or nonmedical expenses related to the child's care are not otherwise covered and would cause undue hardship. A parent, guardian, or social worker submits the application with detailed financial information, prior-year tax-return pages, treatment and provider information, and supporting materials for case-by-case board review.
