Variety—the Children's Charity of Iowa offers three distinct family-facing benefits. The Compassion Fund lets social workers and nurses at six named facilities quickly help families during a critically ill child's long hospital stay with gas, parent meals, immediate utility or phone bills, sibling care, a birthday cake, and newborn SleepSacks. The Specialized Mobility Equipment program accepts complete applications for Iowa residents age 21 or younger who need adaptive bikes, gait trainers, standers, specialized strollers, or similar equipment; a PT or OT and vendor documentation are central to the process. A separate Traditional Bike Program provides a new bicycle, helmet, and lock to underprivileged Iowa children who have never owned a bike, but no family nomination or application route is currently published. None of these pages publishes a language-assistance policy.
