Support organization
Hawaii’s Children with Special Health Needs Branch coordinates statewide, family-centered support for children and youth with chronic health or developmental needs. The Specialty Support Program provides no-cost care coordination to eligible Hawaii residents under 21 and may separately preauthorize limited income-tested medical services. Early Intervention Services supports eligible children under three at no family cost, while Hiʻilei offers free developmental screening through age five. B-ALL is not an automatic diagnosis route in these programs; a child must meet each program’s chronic-condition, specialist-care, developmental-delay, age, residence, and team-determination rules.
